Fantasyland Expansion

Well, I guess since we have DLand Day coming up I better start posting fun stuff again. As some of you know, their is a building called "Blue Sky Cellar" (not to be confused with Blue Sky Studios, where I work) where new attractions and expansions are displayed. It's an awesome place to visit and it's kinda hidden in California Adventure. I suggest you check out the exhibit if you get a chance.

Anyways, they just reopened and the primary focus is on the new Fantasyland expansion. This addition to the side of Sleeping Beauty's castle will mainly be princess themed. Though I'm not into Princesses or meet-and-greets I do think this new area will be pretty and it will help alleviate some crowds from other crowded areas.

Also, looks like there will finally be a new show back in the theater by ToonTown. It'll be called Mickey and the Magical Map.

I'm just glad that the space will be used for a show again. It's kinda cool to have another attraction revolve around the most iconic Disney character. I LOVE Fantasmic and with all of today's modern technologies I could see this show being quite stunning.

The Fantasyland expansion opens this spring (maybe in time for DLand Day?!?) and Mickey's new show premiers this summer.

Mousehunt Rule Review

It's that time again... Time to take off the gloves and battle for the coveted Mousehunt championship! We've had 2 incredibly close and intense years and so far, Savanna and Marianne are the only two to claim the crown. Who will it be this year? Will Zapperman finally ditch his two-time runner-up status for the trophy? Only time will tell.

Here is a recap of how the game works... 

Every Monday, at exactly 8pm pst an email will be sent out to the group. The email will contain 2 questions. A Mousehunt question and a Bonus question.  

For the Mousehunt question:  

• 7 points will be awarded for a correct answer 
• 5 points will be awarded for an incorrect answer 
• 3 additional points will be awarded IF you are the FIRST to respond with a correct answer

For the Bonus question:

• 3 points for a correct answer
• 0 points for a wrong answer

Pop quizes:
     Randomly, at any time, a question/challenge will be sent out. Rules and points vary and will be explained in the pop quiz email. So be ready!

Final Showdown:
     On Disneyland Day, the 3 players with the most points will have the opportunity to compete in some sort of final competition to decide the winner.

Digital Winner:
     Each year we also have a digital winner. This is the person with the most points who does NOT attend Disneyland Day

Glow With the Show

Here is a video of that World of Color show we mentioned in the podcast. It's called Glow With the Show. You can get your own pair for $25. The cool thing is that they also light up as you walk around the park. They detect where you are and will change colors depending on which land/store/show you are near. Kinda awesome!

Disneyland Day Podcast Episode 1

This is the first Disneyland Day Podcast ever. There will hopefully be a ton more! We had so much fun making it.

On this episode we talk about what Disneyland Day is, next year's big day. Then we discuss the opening of Cars Land and other fun Disney news!

Happiest Day On Earth!!!

Words will do little to express how wonderful this year's Disneyland Day was but I will do my best to capture the magic that everyone brought with them on this wonderful trip. First of all, we would like to thank all of you for making the effort to be there, we know this day would never have happened without each of you.

Every Disneyland Day starts with the Mouse Hunt championship breakfast. This year we went with a Star Tours theme since Star Tours was revamped this past year.

Brit came up with some wonderful food ideas which included Princess Leia Cinamon Buns, Jabba Juice, Storm Trooper Scramble and more. We ended up having 26 people come this year and everyone got there very own gift bag. The bags were painted with a custom DLand Day Storm Trooper with Mickey Ears stencil. Inside they had everyone's shirts, last year's blocks (if you went last year), puzzles, Chewie Chewbacca home made cookies and more. 

The 3 finalists were Kim, Cheryl and Marianne. After weeks of questions and a close battle, it all came down to this years championship.

No... it's the return of Zapperman!!

 This year's game was Jeopardy themed and it was VERY close. Mighty Mouse Marianne narrowly beat Zapperman and Princess Leia in a championship that will go down in history as one of the greatest!

Finally, it was time to head for the park. When Brit and I decided that we wanted to start an annual holiday centered at Disneyland, we knew it would be more about family then rides. This year we hit up some awesome rides, but by far the best part was spending that time together! Our first ride all together was Pirates of the Caribbean!!

I can't imagine how this year's Disneyland Day could have been any more enjoyable. Thank you all so much for making the trip, but more than that, thank you for being you. Every one of you brought a unique light to the unforgettable day. Brit and I are so lucky to have such wonderful friends and family. I'm glad that our first born child will have such a fun and supportive family. We love you all so much and we had such a great time!!! We can't wait until March 9th when we have the 4th annual Disneyland Day!!

HERE COMES DLAND DAY!!!

Well, we are off to a solid start guys! We are so excited to see everyone that is going. I love this time when we get all these emails from friends and family!!
